Our Story
Scott Cassidy, Founder
Scott Cassidy grew up on a dairy farm in Gippsland, Victoria, where life on the land instilled a work ethic that still defines the way he runs his business today. At 30, he found his way into the drainage industry — and more than two decades later, he still brings the same energy and commitment to every job.
21 Years in the Trade
Scott’s expertise spans drain cleaning, CCTV inspection, and hydro excavation — skills built through years of hands-on work in the field.
His career began in 2005 at Pipe Solutions, a small family-owned business, where he learned the fundamentals of drain cleaning and CCTV inspection from some of the industry’s most experienced operators. When the business’s equipment and staff were later acquired to form Environmental Services Group (ESG), Scott moved with them, working his way up to Operations Manager before returning to the tools as a subcontractor.
When ESG was sold in December 2019, Scott made the decision to go out on his own. With the support of family and a strong network around him, he launched Drainage Solutions Australia in 2020 and steered the new business through the challenges of COVID-19.
By 2022, DSA had taken on its first subcontractor and second truck, building real momentum and forging customer relationships that continue today. The team grew further with Shane Armstrong joining as Operations Manager in early 2024, and Scott’s wife, Roxy, coming on board in an admin role later that year. In June 2025, DSA secured its first council contract, with Maroondah City Council.
Where We Are Today
Drainage Solutions Australia now employs a team of 10, supported by a modern fleet of five Combo/NDD trucks, two CCTV vans, a Vermeer NDD trailer, a 4.5-tonne tipper truck, a pipe repair ute, and a drain cleaning easement reel and vac hose trailer.
From a dairy farm in Gippsland to a growing fleet and a council contract, Scott’s journey has been shaped by hard work, strong relationships, and a genuine passion for the trade — values that continue to drive Drainage Solutions Australia forward.
